Curly comes to the fair

Makiah Taylor is not your normal 13-year-old girl — worrying about the way she looks and what she is wearing to school the next day. She is the daughter of Justin and Katy Taylor and has two younger siblings, Mayzee and Kelten. The family lives in Tonto Basin on what they call a “mini farm” with horses, chickens, dogs and cats and many other animals coming and going.

County to improve Gisela Road

Work to improve the Gisela road by Gila County will start soon. At its Aug. 5 meeting the Gila County Board of Supervisors approved contracts to mill used asphalt and haul it to the road site. The asphalt is from work the Arizona Department of Transportation did in the Rye area and is currently stored at the Payson Event Center grounds, from where it will be hauled to the work site.
